Al Gore’s Hypocrisy
Yeah, I know. Long time no write. But, I just had to share this video with you from Ed Frank at Americans for Prosperity. The AFP team staked out the esteemed former Vice President’s “major address” on climate change, and below are the results:

Let’s be clear, by the way, it doesn’t bother me that the Gore folks ride in style. He’s made a lot of money and he’s earned the right to live in luxury. But, let’s not lecture others about the need to change their lifestyles in between trips to the Exxon station to fill up the SUVs.

Seriously, Dan? Al Gore driving himself around in a Prius or taking the Metro is a security risk. He’s talking about the suburban moms and dads who use their huge cars to haul milk and bread (and sometimes get tax breaks for it).

You are missing the point of the video: it is about hypocrisy. Why can’t Al be in a Prius? Not a whole lot different than a Towncar. In addition, couldn’t he at least get a HYBRID SUV?! That would make much more sense according to his message. In addition, I think it is ridiculous that you are upset with suburban parents utilizing SUVs to haul groceries for (gasp!) their kids and maybe some soccer balls on the way to practice.

Side note, as well, I’m not sure what the real security risk is. Former Vice Presidents don’t get secret service protection.
Again as Margaret points out, it’s not about the fact that he’s driving an SUV - I say more power to him, and I would too if I were him. But, I wouldn’t then go lecture people about having to change their lifestyles.
